Legacy
Every day Shakespeare's Globe captivates people like you. Help us continue our work for the audiences of tomorrow in a very simple and effective way - by leaving a legacy in your Will.
There remains much to be done at the Globe, both to complete existing projects and to create new programmes which will enable a greater number of people to enjoy the work of Shakespeare and his contemporaries.
For example, we are aiming to build an Education and Resource Centre which will enable tens of thousands of young people to explore their imaginations and creative skills.
Should you choose to leave a legacy to Shakespeare's Globe you may wish your gift to be directed towards a specific project, or you may prefer to allow the Trustees of the Globe to decide how to make the most effective use of your legacy.
Whatever you decide, your legacy to the Globe will bring important projects closer to reality.
Making a legacy can have a number of advantages for you:
- Legacies made to registered charities such as The Shakespeare Globe Trust are free of Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax
- Leaving a legacy could reduce the tax burden levied on your estate
- A legacy will enable you to support the Globe in a way which might not be possible during your lifetime.
Your solicitor will be able to advise you on the best way to leave a legacy. Doing this need not entail making a new Will; you can simply add a codicil to include The Shakespeare Globe Trust in your existing Will.
If you do not have a legal advisor please contact the Director of Development at the address below, who will be able to advise you:
